A Bed

January 7th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in headlines

Dave and I have decided about a year ago that we need a new bed. However, because we don’t have the funds yet, we can actually take some time to look at several different beds from several different places. At Time 4 Sleep, they have such a large selection, it’s amazing! All their beds look so comfortable. We have a queen size bed, so we’d be needing a queen size mattress.

Right now, we’re not sleeping so well because our mattress is lumpy. It was especially hard when I was pregnant. I’m telling ya — one of the most important things to have during a pregnancy is a comfy bed! If when we get pregnant again, I am definitely making sure we invest in a very awesome bed, preferably from Time 4 Sleep! A good night’s sleep is so important for everything, especially your mental and physical health! Most of my clients’ issues can be solved so quickly if the first problem was tackled right away: a good night’s rest. As long as someone has a good night’s rest, they can do anything. At Time 4 Sleep, they understand that, and their large, awesome collection just shows how much they care about your sleep. That’s important! I want a new mattress now!

Swimming with the Bean

Lily Bean has been officially signed up for swimming lessons. At 6 months! Boy do they start early, eh? I think I remember my first experience with water (outside of baths and showers, of course) was when I was about 3 years old. I did not enjoy that at all. It was in Vietnam. So I’m hoping that by starting Lily Bean early, she’ll like the water much more than I do.

We’ll see how she does. I’m really looking forward to having activities with her. Should be loads of fun! And cute!

Patience and Time

One of the things I need to work on is being more patient with myself. I have all of these goals and dreams, and I want them to happen RIGHT NOW. I have to remember to be patient because everything takes time. Time is money, and money is time. There are a lot of things to do, but worrying about doing them all at the same time doesn’t get them done. One thing at a time, and taking your pace is a good idea for everything. Getting term life insurance quotes, for example, takes time. Buying a car takes time. Going to school takes time. Finding a job takes time. Everything takes time. And being patient is a virtue, not a curse. I have to remember that.

First Week of January

January 5th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in gratitude

Ah it’s the beginning of the new year already, and we’re already closing into the first week of January. Where has all the time gone?! I’m already down to the bare minimum in my account, and it’s three weeks until pay day. Dude. That’s not good. Time to really be frugal the rest of the month. I just know that there are a lot to spend when I get paid, and I tend to do it all once pay day rolls around. That leaves me with almost nothing the rest of the month. And I’m not even spending anything on myself (other than the essentials, of course, like food and gas and stuff like that). Oi.

Anyway, this week is a good week. My brother is in town and we’re having a good time. He’s grown up a lot, and I am filled with such pride.

Meeting Online

January 1st, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in headlines

As many of you know, Dave and I met online about 12 years ago. We became a couple 10 years ago (in fact, this upcoming February 12 is our 10-year anniversary of the day we first met). Back then, there weren’t many dating sites, but there were chat rooms. They were beginning to be more popular, and “dating online” was still seen as a backwards thing and still sort of frowned upon as “weird.” Nowadays, online dating is accepted everywhere, and it’s almost “normal” to know someone who has met their significant other online, either through a chat room or even more common now, through a dating site. There are so many out there, which ones would you know to choose? Which ones do you trust to find your heart a soul mate? Now, with Dating Directory, you can actually make comparisons and find the exact right site for you. Eharmony, or Match.com? Which one is easier to use, which one is more fitted to your style? Which one could you possibly find your future spouse there? In my direct circle, I know at least 5 people today who has met their spouse on a dating site. Isn’t that amazing? 10 years ago, Dave and I had to twist the truth, so to speak, about how we met. Nowadays, it’s so common that we just come right out and say it: we met online. Go for it. It could be right for you too.

My New Year’s Resolution

January 1st, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in visualization

Well, it’s finally here: 2009. Actually, when I typed that, I accidentally typed out “2008″ and had to hit the backspace button once to re-type in the correct year this year: 2009. This will take a while. Every new year, it takes me at least a month to write down the new year instead of the old year. Heh.

Today was spent cleaning the house. I cleaned the bathroom, de-cluttered the living room (put a lot of stuff into boxes and storage), and dusted the living room. We’re getting our kitchen renovated in about a month or two, so I’m waiting for that before I tackle the kitchen. I’m just glad to be able to de-clutter a lot of the living room.

The new year’s resolution to de-clutter and downsize begins. It’s going well so far. Eventually, this house will be organized and clutter-free! We will get there, I swear!!

Happy new year. If you have resolutions, may this year be the year they come true!
