Pet Information

November 20th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in headlines

I am a sucker for information. I am soo grateful for the internet because there are loads and loads of info out there. When it comes to my family and my friends, there never can be too much information. For example, when Lily Bean’s mild eczema began, I was on the internet just researching and researching, finding ways to make it better and finding out what it was. For Tink, our lovely cat, it’s the same dedication as well. Every time something goes weird or something happens that we can’t explain regarding Tink, I am on the internet looking up pet information to find ways to help her and to understand what’s going on. At Pet Wave, it’s become my primary source of information for all things Tink. They’re so vast and full of information, it’s usually a one-stop shop for me. Go check it out if you have pets.

Visualizing the Coming

November 20th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in visualization

One of the things I am visualizing for right now is something I don’t even want to jinx by saying out loud, so I won’t. Hah. However, I do want to say that I am visualizing that it will work out and that I will find out soon that it will work out. I am not a very patient person sometimes, especially when I know what I want and I go after it. I want it NOW NOW NOW and sometimes I just have to sit back and let the universe take care of me after I’ve done my part. Because really, the universe always takes care of its own. So I am visualizing for the time when I know “it” will happen, and I am visualizing myself being patient enough to let it come and ride this wave out to the end. It will happen. I know it will.

Water Restoration

Since we live in the upstairs suite now, we don’t really have to worry about this, but we used to live downstairs, and now Gran lives downstairs. Water damage can be a huge deal, especially during heavy rainy seasons, like half the year over here! Heh. We’re hoping we never get flooded here (knock on wood), but if we ever do, we’ll need some serious water restoration for our floors here. We don’t want to have Gran living in water-damaged floors if we ever get flooded, so it’s good to know that Water Restoration 911 can come and save us out of such a mess!

Timesheet Time

Yay for tomorrow being Friday. However, since tomorrow is also the 21st of the month, it means time sheets are due. I have to add up all my hours, account for every 15 minutes that I work for, and get paid. Yay for getting paid next week. We definitely need it, that’s for sure. Time sheet time during the month is dreaded by all who works for the agency, just because it’s so tedious and it takes away time from seeing clients and stuff. It involves a lot of calculating, simple math that you can always get wrong (try adding .25 + .25 + .75 + .25… about 50 thousand times and see if you get it correct the first time.. heh) the first time. You have to double check and sometimes triple check all of your calculations. Otherwise you don’t get paid. And because I’m on part time status now, I have to really turn in my time sheets or I don’t get paid at all until I do.

So, back to the calculator for me. And then bedtime.

Baby Phat

I’ve been wanting some new boots for a while, but haven’t been able to really find any that I like or want to buy and actually own and wear. I’m not sure I’m a “boots” person, so finding the RIGHT pair is really important. I’ve always been a fan of Baby Phat clothing line, and I think the designer is so creative with her designs. I was looking at some Baby Phat Boots and I can’t help but want some now. While I would say my style is more of the “hippie-wannabe,” occasionally I wander across into the hip hop line because it’s so chic and casual at the same time. It’s what I like to wear on “court days,” so to speak. More professional than my “hippie” days when I’m just hanging out with friends and family. So going through Kimora Lee Simmons’ fashion line Baby Phat is just up my alley for this type of wear.

Thriving

Today (like most Thursdays), I had a relatively long work day. I’m trying to limit my work days to just a few a week so that I don’t have to leave the house everyday. I rather stay at home with the Lily Bean, but we need the money, so what can I do, right? It’s good work and I enjoy being a therapist. I just enjoy being a mommy much more. Heh.

However, having said that, it really thrills me that I love what I do for a living. It makes leaving our little baby a little easier on the heart, knowing that at least I’m doing something I love. We had a staff meeting today and it was really nice to get back into the groove of things — talking about psychology, counseling, how to help people, how to diagnose, the insides and outsides of what’s going on with our clients and how to help and serve them better. It’s just so… elating. It’s so good to be part of a movement for change and positivity. It’s so good to be part of the help, part of the solution. I love it. This is what I thrive on.

Dream Homes

November 19th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in headlines

Dave and I have always dreamed of making our own home. It will be nice when we can do that one day. The plan has already started — our visualization for one. So today, I was perusing through the internet and found various websites that offer customizing dream homes. I came across this awesome Schumacher Homes Video, where Schumacher makes custom homes in several states. I love seeing these types of things — especially on HGTV or TLC, where they’re building new homes and fixing old fixer uppers. I’m going to have to keep Schumacher in mind for when the time comes when we want to build our dream home. It will have lots of land and be near a forest area with lots of space for the kids and perhaps grandkids to grow and roam around in. How wonderful!
