Real Estate Addiction

April 28th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in reflection

Considering that two (and maybe more in the future) of our family members are into the real estate business, it’s no wonder that I’m just as equally fascinated with the ups and downs of the whole thing. I can’t stop watching these dang real estate shows on HGTV. My favorite shows are Flip That House, House Hunters, and Home Heist. I can’t help it. It’s just really fascinating to me. Is this part of nesting? I’m not entirely sure. I think I’m mentally preparing myself for when we buy our own lone-standing house together in a couple of years. The more I know, the better prepared we’ll be. Dave is counting on his family’s knowledge of the real estate world, but I’d like to know what they’re talking about when they say “equity” and “down payment” and “curb appeal” when we’re looking. Heh.

Well, when the time comes, we’ll be prepared, and we’ll get a lovely, lovely house. All that financial talk is really confusing, but I think in the end, it’ll be worth it because we’ll have our very own house with our very own garden. It’s a visualization that I think about almost everyday. It’ll come. I know it will.

We’re Back!

Let me just say how grateful I am that mindmirror.net is back up and running. It’s been a crazy month where I couldn’t do anything with this site, and I was ready to climb up the wall. Sorry for the delay, folks. Wasn’t my fault. The databases weren’t able to transfer over successfully, and I got tired of waiting for help so I went ahead and started over. Patience hasn’t always been the name of the game for me, but I think I did pretty good waiting over a month before taking matters into my own hands. I spent most of the weekend playing email tag with the support staff at my hosting server. They’ve been patient with me and and well, now we’re back because of it! Hallejulah!

So Many Faces

April 23rd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in gratitude

After dealing with so many different people at work, I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to see the many faces of life. I give gratitude at my job on a daily basis. The people I see, the people I meet, sometimes I think that they help me more than I help them. It’s amazing the different strands of life that are possible in this world. From the very, very needy who have to go to drug rehab on a regular basis, to the very, very functional who just needs a good listening ear, they are all worthwhile. They all make this life beautiful. Their struggles, their pains, their happiness, their success, everything about this world is beautiful. I am glad to be bringing a child into this world, with so much to give and so much to show her. She will have so much to learn.

Getting a Start

It’s another day, another dollar. I get most of the day off today, with the exception of an ultrasound in the early afternoon. I did not get a good night’s sleep again last night, and woke up a bit light-headed, though not as bad as early on last week’s. Maybe it’s cuz I screwed up my sleeping schedule over the weekend. In any case, this is a new week and I’m glad to get it started.

So today’s visualization is to feel a little better and less headachey. Hopefully too, we can buy a new Wii game this week. Mario Kart came out yesterday and both Kelly and Candice are on my case to get it. The thing I love about Wii is that it’s completely wireless, and we don’t have to worry about any type of (hdmi cables) wires and cords. Plus, you get a good work out too.

Here’s to today’s awesome possum visualization. Let me just get in a couple more hours of sleep without being disturbed and I promise to get my day started!
