Shogging

August 29th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in encompassed

Lots of people are turning to the internet to do their shopping these days. I know that we do it all the time around our household. I often go to the websites of various retail outlets to find out what they have on sale or in stock before I jog out to the store itself. It sure beats jogging from store to store without first having checked online. You can now save even more time with price comparison shopping online. We have found that the best price comparison site is Shogging.com, which does the price comparisons for us and saves time from going looking for the information ourselves. We have even found many great deals from retailers and websites we didn?t know carried the products we were looking for at the time. I would definitely recommend checking it out to make up your own mind. Try it with a regular monthly shopping list, or even just try searching for price comparisons on a recent purchase you have made. I bet you will be surprised at how much money you could have saved. Think of the money you can save in the future! Be sure to check out Shogging.com for the best price comparison site around.

Long Work Day That Go Well

August 29th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in gratitude

So today was a pretty good day. The hours were long, but the clients were good and well-behaved. Heh. I got a lot of things done on my to-do list (did I mention before how great to-do lists are?!), which leaves me with some more time tomorrow to get other things done on my next to-do list (notice how it never ends, but that’s okay because I love checking off the list anyway).

I put in a 12-hour work day today. Is that crazy? Yes. And I’m still in a good mood. Is that crazier? Double yes. Heh. Oh well. It shows that I still like my job, and I’m okay with the crazy hours. Heck, I make them myself, so it’s not like I’m being forced to meet with clients at late evening hours. Sometimes that’s just the way things work out, I suppose.

I’m grateful for even long work days that go well.

Renos and Stuff

Man alive, I am pooped. I somehow always wake up at 8am, no matter what day it is. This includes weekends as well. Yesterday, there was supposed to be a dude coming over to look at our bathroom for renovation, but he never came. I even came home slightly early from work just so I could be here. Well, the guy’s definitely off our list of reno dudes, for sure. We have one really good quote already, and we have two more appointments for two more quotes. Hopefully they match that good quote or even better, give us a better one! In any case, our bathrooms look like they’re going to finally get renovated within the next two months. Yay!! I’m excited, you have no idea! I can’t wait to take a bath in our new bathroom — haven’t taken a bath since we moved here because our tub is peeling off and stuff. Yick.

Today will be a good day. The weather is beautiful, the air is calm, the clients are all happy. Today can’t be a bad day. I just won’t let it be.

Answering Service

August 29th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in encompassed

Before Dave and I had an answering machine, we were looking for some sort of virtual database answering machine service where they can keep track of all our messages. On top of all that, Dave wanted it all — a place to hold our fax, calls, etc. — sort of like a personalized virtual office. At the time, none of that existed, because we sure did look long and hard. Now, there is a place for telephone answering service! This answering service is not just a regular answering machine, but they also allow all those other things Dave was looking for. They are available 24/7, 365 days a year, so you will never have to lose another call again. I think that is a fantastic service. Wish it was around when we were looking, but at least now we can keep it in mind for when we may need it again!

Directory of Courts

Ever wondered where you can find traffic court in your area? I’ve often tried to find certain types of local court hearings for my clients — some of them who get in trouble have to go to different courts depending on what type of law they violated. For example, if you’re in New Jersey and you got a traffic ticket or violation, you would have to find New Jersey Traffic Courts that would be able to help you with your situation. Now, town-court.com has a growing directory of traffic courts in the U.S. Not just that, but the site also has a directory of criminal courts. It’s still a growing site, and eventually they will all courts in all states, but so far they have a good collection. For example, I went to search for Washington state, and got the closest county where I am — King County. I then saw a listing of Seattle District Court, in Seattle, and there the site offers a variety of different types of basic information regarding Seattle District Court. It’s good to know because sometimes I have clients who have to go to court in the Seattle area, and at least now I know a bit of where they are going!

In Need of Female Energy

August 28th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in connections

Sometimes I wish I live in the same country as most of my friends. :P Living isolated in South Surrey area in B.C. is really a bummer because I don’t get to see much of people. Most of my closer friends aren’t even in the same country as where we live, or the same state. Sometimes I feel so isolated and I miss having female best friends who live around here. I miss being able to call someone up and go, “Hey, wanna do dinner tonight?” out of the blue, instead of having to “plan” every single freakin’ event. I miss being able to just drop by someone’s house and hang out for a while. I miss gossiping about silly stuff without having to worry when I have to drive across the border again. I haven’t seen any of the pod since the wedding, and before that it was even longer. Time just lapses on, and I find that having to make scheduled meetings and dinner dates tiring and almost painful. Furthermore, it hurt like fuck when 98% of my friends weren’t able to or didn’t come to my bridal shower or stagette party. It was mostly family. I have great family, but argh… it just frustrates me sometimes. I remember in college when everyone was so close and no one needed an “excuse” to see each other. And life didn’t get in the way, nor did work or sleepiness or laziness. Why can’t everyone just live in the same goddamn neighborhood as me? Is that too much to ask? I want some sincere, female energy around me, please.
