Bed and Breakfast Investment

March 13th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in encompassed

Ooh, so a while ago, the family talked about possibly getting all our heads and experiences together to look into property investment at Gabriola Island (which is an awesome island that we visit every summer to hang out and debrief and spend time together, stressfree-style). We were specifically talking about possibly getting a bed and breakfast going. Sylv (my mother in law) and a couple of my other in-laws even looked into lodging property brokers to see what is required and how much we’d have to spend and stuff. BB Inn Brokers specialize specifically in bed and breakfast property investments, such as motels, inns, cottages, resorts, cabins, etc. It would be fantastic if we could do this in a few years time, and all go in on it as a family. It’s important to go to brokers who know what they’re doing, especially in this very specialized market. Since none of us know how to get started, they would be a good asset on what we can do to get our feet wet and invest in such things. Having a bed and breakfast on the island would make us such a killing every year. What a great investment for Bean too!

Small Business Loans

Dave and I have been talking about getting a small business together — doing various things and selling various products. We have lots of ideas, but the one thing we don’t have a lot of is money. So getting one of those Small Business Loans through EZUnsecured.com seems like the perfect fit to get our business started. It’s easy, has fast processing, and is incredibly reliable from what I hear. Plus, the great thing is that we can use it to get started right away, and with their excellent customer service, we’ll get all the help we need to create our little empire. I can’t wait! With Baby Bean coming, we’ll have to secure this right away.

Body Cleaning

Before I got pregnant, I was contemplating on getting my whole insides cleaned out. While that sounds kind of creepy, it’s actually very effective. I’ve had friends who went through Colon Cleansing and it was really awesome for them. It’s quite cool. My friend, Liam, went through this and he said body detoxification is one of the purest forms of cleaning yourself of toxins. He now does it regularly and he’s as healthy as a horse. I may try it one day after Bean is born. I’m still giving it a great deal of thought and think it might be worth it. We inhale and eat toxins everyday and don’t even think twice about cleaning ourselves. We should!

Safety on the Job

Every company I have worked for has emphasized health and safety on the job. Some more so than others. In my field, safety is a really big thing, especially when we’re going out on home visits to clients’ territories. However, the most common source of “health and safety” concerns preventable behaviors on the job, safety tools and gears, and the like. At urltrends.com, they offer these very types of safety courses in their safety management software. Because it’s web-based, clients / employees can access these training courses anywhere and anytime, from any computer. It’s really essential to know these health and safety tips because it can possibly save your life, or your coworker’s life. I suggest you and your company check it out!

New York

One of the things I would love to do during this lifetime is visit New York. I’d take even a weekend trip from Dial-A-Flight and book a flight to New York so that I can see all the lovely sights and witness all the lovely people. New York is world famous, and I want to know first hand why that is. I can imagine being overwhelmed by all the tall buildings, and all the walking people, and all the hundreds of taxis and the crowds and stuff. Probably wouldn’t be a chosen place for me to live, but to visit I’d definitely want to experience! Since I grew up in a big city, I’m sure it wouldn’t take me very long to get used to it or appreciate its attractiveness. I also want to see the broaddway shows there, and visit all the big stores on 5th Avenue. Maybe we’ll take Bean one day!

Surfboard Heaven

I’ve always wanted to be a surf boarder, but the whole “surfing on water” thing really frightens me. I guess I’ll never know until I actually try. In the meantime, I have friends who are surfers and I think they are the coolest thing since sliced bread. They also have really awesome surfboards, from different surfboard fins to different boards entirely. Some of the designs on there are so beautiful — it could even be considered an art form. I bet they get their stuff at thesurfboardwarehouse.com, since that is a really awesome site for the coolest surfing supplies, including the boards themselves. How awesome. One day, I’ll give it a shot, and then I can “surf” that site for awesome things too!

Patio Heaters Needed

March 10th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in encompassed

Although it’s raining outside, I have this weird urge to go out on the patio and hang out. I think I got it from Tink. Our patio / deck is nowhere near sufficient for hanging-out mode, but it used to be! When we get it all set up again, I’m going to get us one of those patio heaters, as I tend to get chilly really fast, even in the summer. Vancouver summers are not like regular summers. It rains here and sometimes it’s rather chilly too. Hanging outside most often requires a light sweater for me. Our deck is very lovely and I can’t wait to be able to use one of these heaters out there during the summer.
